Bhubaneswar: ‘Mo Sarkar’ has given a new dimension to the administrative system in Odisha, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while chairing a review meeting on ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative here on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said that Odisha has made remarkable strides in the last two decades and has set examples in many areas. The ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme, which was started two years ago, has now given a new model to the administrative system in the State, he said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme on October 2, 2019 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The programme has succeeded in building trust between the people and government, he said while insisting all departments to include more people in the programme.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the ‘Mo Sarkar’ has brought changes in the perception of the people towards the government and government institutions. It has also succeeded in building trust between the public and government institutions, he said.
He further stated that the feedback of the people has been recorded and steps are being taken on the basis of their views.
Explaining that the feedback received from the grassroots level is encouraging, Naveen said that several departments have been successful in bringing behavioural change among its employees. It is heartening to know that government officers and employees are behaving more responsibly and courteously while delivering service to citizens, the CM added.
At the today’s meeting, the Chief Minister included three departments – Finance, Works, and Commerce & Transport in the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.
The programme of six departments was reviewed at meeting. These departments are Home; Health & Family Welfare; Forest, Environment & Climate Change; Industries, MSME and Water Resources.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said that this is the major programme to receive feedback from people. Almost all departments have been included in the programme, he said while calling for regular monitoring of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian said that the feedback system in most of the departments is of very high quality.
He further said that the departments should show urgency in collecting feedback from the common people and should emphasize on taking action against the wrongdoing employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Electronics & Information Technology Department Secretary Manoj Kumar Mishra said that 233 services of 28 departments have been included in the Mo Sarkar programme.
With the inclusion of three departments today, 250 services of 31 departments have been covered under the initiative, he added.
Additional Chief Secretaries of various departments, Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries, District Collectors and other senior officials attended the meeting.
