Odisha Govt to Increase Vaccination Centres to Accelerate Coverage of Precaution Dose

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is planning to increase number of vaccination centres to accelerate coverage of COVID-19 precaution dose in the State.

Dr Bijay Panigrahi, Director of Health and Family Welfare Department and nodal officer of COVID-19 vaccination, said that the State Government is planning to set up more than 3000 vaccination centres to ensure universal Covid precaution doses to all adults under 60 years of age.

He said that college and educational institutions will also be included.

More than 2.65 crore people yet to avail COVID precautionary shots. Today booster dose campaign is underway at 2320 centres in Odisha. There are only 13 lakh jabs available with us so, Centre will be asked to provide more vaccines, he added.

The free Covid booster doses will be provided to people in the age group of 18-59 years from July 15 and will be available for 75 days.
