Naveen Casts Vote in Presidential Election for Sixth Time in His Political Career

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik cast his vote for the Presidential election this morning.

In his illustrious political career spanning more than two decades, the BJD supremo cast his vote for the sixth time for election to the highest position in India.

This morning, Naveen exercised his franchise for the ongoing Presidential election at Room No-54 of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

“It’s an honour to cast my vote for the Presidential Election. It is indeed a matter of pride for our state that the daughter of #Odisha, Smt. Droupadi Murmu is a candidate for the highest office of our country. Wish her all the very best”, Naveen said.

Naveen Patnaik was elected as a Member of Parliament on June 1, 1997. In the same year, the 11th Presidential election was held in the country. Naveen cast his vote in the election. K. R. Narayanan became President beating his nearest rival T. N. Seshan in the election.

The Odisha Chief Minister had exercised his franchise in the Presidential elections held in the years 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017. The winners of these elections were A. P. J. Abdul Kalam (2002), Pratibha Devisingh Patil (2007), Pranab Kumar Mukherjee (2012) and Ram Nath Kovind (2017).
