Martyrs’ Week Passes Off Peacefully in Malkangiri and Koraput

Koraput: The Martyrs’ Week observed by the CPI (Maoist) passed off peacefully in Malkangiri and Koraput districts without any incident.

Like previous years, the CPI (Maoist) Party celebrated Martyrs’ Week from 28.07.22 to 03.08.22 in the country. But unlike previous years, this year’s Martyrs’ Week has passed off without any incident in Malkangiri and Koraput districts, known as a strong bastion of the outfit for more than three decades.

For the first time, there was not even a single incident of affixing of banner/poster, no meeting by the Maoists in the villages, no martyrs’ pillar inaugurated, no road blocking by felling trees and no violent incidents. In the past years, during Martyrs’ Week, the Maoist activities used to be very high.

This has been possible due to the establishment of several new Security camps at strategic locations and continuous anti-Maoist operations. There has been a sea change in the situation this year and the Maoists could not carry out any of their activities during Martyrs’ Week, according to an official statement.
