Odisha: Govt Assigns 30 Senior Officers To Oversee Welfare Programs And Schemes In Districts

Bhubaneswar: As part of its commitment to successful implementation of projects and delivery of various welfare schemes, programs to the common man on time, the Government of Odisha has assigned 30 senior officers to the thirty districts of the state.

The senior officers will oversee the completion and implementation of various projects, welfare activities and programs such as Paddy Procurement, Covid Management, welfare programs and projects. They will act as a bridge between the district and state administrations and work for achieving the government’s intended goals. The officers have been asked to visit the districts at least twice monthly and review the government programs and solve issues if any. They have also been asked to furnish the details about their visit to the districts with the Chief Secretary’s Office.

The officers who have been assigned to the ten aspirational districts have been advised to give special focus on all the parameters.

While Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, Satyabrata Sahu has been assigned Kalahandi district, Principal Secretary Finance Vishal Kumar Dev
has been assigned with Mayurbhanj District. Likewise, Director Agriculture Prem Chandra Choudhury is assigned for Kendrapada district, IT Secretary Manoj Kumar Mishra for Dhenkanal District and Labour Secretary Chitra Arumugam has been assigned for Gajapati district.

National Health Mission Director Dr Brunda D has been assigned for Anugul, Energy Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhala for Balangir, Labour Commissioner N Thirumala Nayak for Balasore and Special Secretary Water Resources Archana Patnaik has been assigned for Bargarh. While Director Special Projects Arindam Dakua will oversee Bhadrak district, Additional Secretary Panchayatiraj Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar will look after Boudh district. Likewise, the government has assigned Mission Shakti Secretary Sujata R Karthikeyan for Cuttack, Northern RDC Suresh Chandra Dalai for Deogarh, School and Mass Education Secretary Aswathy S for Ganjam, and Science and Technology Secretary Bhaskar Jyoti Shama has been assigned for Jajpur district.

Water Resources Secretary Anu Garg has been assigned for Puri district, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Secretary Suresh Kumar Basisth for Rayagada, Works Secretary Veer Vikram Yadav for Sambalpur, IPICOL MD Bhupinder Punia for Sonepur and Industries Secretary Hemant Sharma has been given the charge of Jharsuguda. Likewise, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department Additional Secretary Srikanta Prusty has been given Jagatsinghpur, OMC Managing Director Balwant Singh Sundargarh, Tourism Secretary Sachin R Jadab Nuapada, Director Drinking Water and Sanitation, B Parameswaran Nayagarh, Director Women and Child Development Department Aravind Agrawal Nabarangpur, Special Secretary to Government, Cooperation Department Sanjeev Kumar Chadha Malkangiri, Principal Secretary Higher Education Bishnupada Sethi Koraput, Secretary Women and Child Development Shubha Sarma Khordha, Secretary Steel And Mines Deoranjan Singh Keonjhar and Agriculture Secretary Arabinda Padhee has been given the charge of Kandhamal district.
