Counting Begins For Dhamnagar By-polls

Bhadrak: Counting of votes for the Dhamnagar by-polls has begun here at the Sanskruti Bhaban amidst full security arrangements. While the postal ballots were counted first, the EVM votes will be counted in 18 rounds. Fourteen counting tables have been set up which will have a counting supervisor, an assistant, and a micro-observer each. The results are expected to be out by afternoon.

The polls were necessitated due to the death of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Bishnu Sethi. While the BJD has fielded Abanti Das as its candidate, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Bishnu’s son Surjyabanshi. The Congress has fielded Baba Harekrushna Sethi.
