Berhampur: MKCG MCH Nurse Sibani Das Bags National Florence Nightingale Award

Berhampur: Sibani Das, a nursing officer at Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College and Hospital (MKCG MCH), Berhampur in Ganjam district has received the National Florence Nightingale Award 2021.

Das has received the prestigious award from President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.

Sibani Das has received the highest nursing honour in the country for her dedication to the profession, particularly for her service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

50-year old Sibani Das, who belongs to Lochapada area in Berhampur, brings with her nearly 25 years of experience as a nurse.

Prior to joining MKCG MCH in 2007, she had worked in West Bengal from 1997 to 2007.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked very hard and sincerely to support the patients. She was posted at Tata COVID Hospital at Sitalapalli.
