Chatrapur: All government-run high schools in Ganjam district are getting an overall facelift under the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s ambitious High School Transformation (HST) programme as part of the 5T initiative.
As many as 133 high schools have been covered under the initiative in the first phase and 233 high schools in the second phase in Ganjam district.
A total of 107 schools in the district are going to be transformed in the third phase of the programme.
To take stock of the progress of the programme, CDO-cum-EO, ZP, Ganjam Keerthi Vasan V on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing works under the High School Transformation programme in Jagannath Prasad Block in the district.
During his visit to the block, the official advised BDO and other officials to complete the works within the timeline.
Earlier, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian reviewed the progress of the third phase of the High School Transformation Programme across 20 blocks of the district and had held interaction with students, teachers, members of school management committees, peoples’ representatives and other stakeholders from these blocks via video conferencing about the transformation programme.
The High School Transformation programme is a dream project of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik that aims to give a complete facelift to the state-run high schools with modern facilities, such as world-class interactive and smart classrooms, e-library-cum reading rooms and modern science laboratories.
The Odisha Government targets to cover all remaining schools in Ganjam by March 5 next year.
