Bhubaneswar: The preliminary report shows there are no extensive damages in the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Jajpur by the severe cyclonic storm Yaas, informed Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena.
In a media briefing, the SRC said that the landfall process of very severe cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ has completed and the restoration works are in full swing in the affected areas in the State.
The cyclonic storm Yaas crossed the north Odisha coast about 20 km south of Balasore. Bhadrak and Balasore districts are now experiencing reduced wind speeds and rainfalls, he said.
The NDRF, ODRAF and Fire Service personnel are working to remove the uprooted trees from the roads. The restoration of power supply and other activities are underway on a war-footing in the affected districts to restore normalcy, he said.
