Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik To Launch Drink From Tap Facility In Nineteen Cities OF Odisha Today

Bhubaneswar: Keeping the commitment to provide safe drinking water to all households in Odisha, the Government has expanded the Drink From Tap facility to nineteen additional cities. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will today dedicate the facility to the people of nineteen cities. This will benefit about 5.5 lakh urban residents of Odisha. The event will also be marked by the commencement of work in three ULBs reaching an additional 1.5 lakh population. Odisha’s flagship Drink from Tap Mission is the first-of-its-kind programme in the Country providing 24×7 IS 10500 quality drinkable water directly from the tap.

The Chief Minister will inaugurate the Drink From Tap facility in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Nimapada, Berhampur, Gopalpur, Rourkela, Sundergarh, Biramitrapur, Rajgangpur, Keonjhar, Joda, Badbil, Champua, Anandpur, Baripada, Rairangpur, Udala, Karanjia, Byasanagar today. In addition, the Chief Minister will also launch the work for this facility in Khurda, Jatni and Hinjilikattu.

Puri has become the first city in India to provide 24-hour clean drinking water under the Drink From Tap scheme, while Gopalpur in Ganjam district will be the second city in the country to provide this system.
