Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad Denied Access to His Twitter Account for an Hour

New Delhi: Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday denied access to his Twitter account for almost an hour for allegedly violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of the USA.

The Union Minister informed that the social media platform had denied access to his account for almost an hour on the alleged ground that there was a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of the USA and subsequently they allowed him to access the account.

Ravi Shankar Prasad shared a screenshot of his twitter post, which shows that his account has been locked following a complaint Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice for content posted on his account. Following the message, Twitter allowed him access to the account.

The development comes amid the war of words between Twitter India and the Central Government over the new IT Rules.
