Good Samaritan Couple In Dhenkanal Return Bag Containing Jewellery And Cash Worth Rs 2 Lakhs, Get Appreciation From Police

Dhenkanal: In a rare gesture that is quite unthinkable now a days, a Good Samaritan daily labourer couple in Dhenkanal district, Gagan Dehury and Malati Dehury of Mandara under Gondia police station limits have returned to police a bag containing valuable gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 2 Lakhs they had found on the road.

The incident happened when Sujit Maharana and his wife were going to Bhuban on a bike during Joranda Mela and they lost their bag containing the valuables near Mandara Salia village. Gagan Dehuru found the bag containing gold chain, cash and mobile phone and without any second thought deposited the bag at the Gondia Police Station. The Police took steps to return the valuables to their rightful owners and handed them over to them.

DIG, North-Central Range, Talcher Brijesh Kumar Rai felicitated the daily labourer Gagan Dehury for his kind gesture and handed him over an appreciation letter. He will be given official government reward as per the rules. His response might just be the sweetest thing that we are hearing in a long time. Kudos to his humanly act.
