Bhubaneswar: The Housing & Urban Development Department on Tuesday said that Bhubaneswar has completed 100% water metering for all its 1.56 lakh house connections.
“Realizing the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, yet another milestone has achieved by Odisha under 5T Governance in its historic Drinking Water Journey. Bhubaneswar today has completed 100% water metering for all its 1.56 lakh house connections”, the HUDD said.
Earlier in October 2020, Bhubaneswar became the 1st Million Plus City of India to achieve 100% house connections.
Bhubaneswar is marching ahead to become the largest “Drink from Tap City” of the state with 42,167 house connections (27%) supplying 24×7 directly drinkable (IS 10500) quality water so far. The brigade of 117 Jalsathis of WATCO in Bhubaneswar have been the key drivers of this success, it added.
