Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has rolled out a five-year strategic partnership with the University of Chicago Trust (UCT) for using data to advance innovations and drive policy decisions.
An agreement has been signed between Electronics & Information Technology Department (E&IT), Government of Odisha and UCT in Bhubaneswar.
The Data, Policy and Innovation Centre (DPIC) aims to enable rigorous, evidence-based governance while using new advances in econometrics, data science and machine learning and act as a centre of excellence for collecting big data from many sources.
The partnership will involve researchers from the University of Chicago to provide data analysis and evaluation assistance to the Odisha Government’s schemes and policies to benefit the state districts and blocks.
The meeting was attended by E&IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera. E&IT Dept Principal Secretary Manoj Kumar Mishra, E&IT Special Secretary Manas Panda, OCAC Odisha CEO Manoj Pattnaik and Executive Dir of University of Chicago Center in India Dr. Leni Chaudhuri. The senior officials of OCAC Odisha and University of Chicago Trust were also present on the occasion.
