Bhubaneswar: Manoj Kumar Mishra on Wednesday took the charge as Chief Executive of Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC), the apex body of the State for space technology applications.
Currently, Mishra serves as the Principal Secretary to the Electronics & Information Technology (ET&IT) Department of the State Government.
The State Government has given the major position of ORSAC Chief Executive to Manoj Mishra considering his immense contribution in the transformation of IT sector in the State.
ORSAC undertakes Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS based projects for several development planning activities. It also runs GRAMSAT and EDUSAT programmes to bring governance closer to the people at the grassroots level.
Mishra, who has also played a crucial role in bringing several IT firms to the State, will guide the ORSAC towards a new direction fulfilling the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Mishra taking care of ORSAC, another key technology wing of Odisha, is a sign of 5T of leveraging technology for the best use of governance.
