Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian has made a two-day visit to Gajapati district from Tuesday to take stock of progress of various developmental projects.

During his visit, the 5T Secretary has reviewed the progress of the ambitious Biju Express II project, a major project that aims to enhance connectivity in the south Odisha.

The Biju Express II will connect Berhampur to Jeypore via Mohana in Gajapati district. The project will be completed in three years, he said.

He urged the officials to speed up the project.

After the successful completion of the construction work of Biju Expressway-1, the State Government is now going to start the work of Biju Expressway-2, which holds significance in terms of economic and social development of the state.

This 305 km long road will connect Berhampur city with Jaipur and about Rs 7,000 crore will be invested for this greenfield project. It will be built through 15 blocks in 4 districts – Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput.
