5T Secy Reviews Various Development Works in Balasore Dist, Says Bahanaga Panchayat to Be Developed as Model Panchayat in Country

Balasore: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian has made a two-day visit to Balasore from Thursday to review various developmental works in the district.

The 5T Secretary visited the Bahanaga High School where he met the common people, parents, teachers and school committee members.

Recalling the frightful night of triple train accident at Bahanaga, Pandian said that the way the local people spontaneously rushed to the accident site to rescue people, stood up in lines for blood donation to save lives, was incomparable. Expressing that they have brought praise for Odisha all over the country by showing the highest level of humanity, he said that the entire State is indebted to them.

Bahanaga Panchayat will be developed as a model Panchayat in the country, informed the 5T Secretary.

Stating that Bahanaga High School will be transformed under the 5T programme, Pandian said that the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs.2.49 crore for this. He gave the Chief Minister’s approval letter to the District Collector.

Commenting on the requests of the people for the development of various religious institutions in the region, the 5T Secretary said that there will be good news within the next week. He said that the Chief Minister will take a decision in this regard immediately.

Pandian also reviewed the developmental works being carried out at the Bahanaga primary schools under the 5T transformation program and directed to accelerate the works. It is worth noting that this is the first primary school in the State to be transformed under the 5T school transformation program.

Pandian further informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs. 128 crore for the transformation of 128 government higher secondary schools and colleges in Balasore district as part of the 5T initiatives.

At Fakir Mohan Medical College in Remuna, Pandian met the staffs of the college and the youth who donated blood during the disaster and praised them for their selfless service.

Pandian visited the famous Panchalingeswar temple in Oupada Block and Khirachora Gopinath Temple in Remuna block and discussed with temple committee members, local people and officials regarding beautification of the temples. He directed the District Collector to prepare a report and submit it.

He visited the construction site of Salandi canal in Oupada Block and discussed various aspects of the work with departmental engineers and officials. According to the review, the construction of the canal will be completed by December this year.

The 5T Secretary visited Jamjhadi GP of Simulia block and Baulagadia GP of Oupada Block and saw various activities of the local people for the promotion of ‘One Panchayat, One Product’ programme. He has highly appreciated the various products made from bamboo by the members of Mission Shakti in Jamjhadi.

He visited Baba Raghunath Jieu stone craving Center at Baulagadia and discussed with the artisans there. Stating that their skill and performance is the glory of Odisha, he said that the State Government will provide all facilities for the marketing of their products. He advised the officials to make special arrangements to provide market facilities to the artisans involved in the program.

He said that all the schools and colleges in Soro block will be transformed under the 5T initiatives. After visiting the community health center in Soro, the 5T Secretary reviewed the ‘AMA Hospital’ program there. He talked to patients and their families. He instructed the officials to streamline the program and provide better services to the people. The 5T Secretary also visited a Mission Shakti Cafe in Panchalingeswar to understand its management, food and other issues. He suggested to take the business forward by making food according to the demand of the people.
