3 held for killing mason during robbery bid in Delhi

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested three men for allegedly killing a mason while trying to rob him in southeast Delhi’s Amar Colony area, police said on Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Love Kush (25), a resident of nearby Samudayik Bhawan Jhuggi, Raja (26) and Rahul (30), both residents of Sri Niwas Puri.

On June 27, an information was received that one Birender, a resident of Sri Niwas Puri, was admitted to Safdarjung hospital with stab injuries. However, he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.

According to the police, during the investigation, the police team tasked to crack the case made continuous sincere efforts and analysed various CCTV footages.

“Though the footage was found, the persons were not clearly identifiable. The relentless efforts of the team brought fruitful results and the team traced three accused — Rahul, Raja Ram and Love Kush — who stabbed the deceased,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo.

During questioning, it was found that the accused persons were trying to rob Birender.

“Rahul and Love Kush grabbed Birender from behind. When he opposed the accused persons, Raja stabbed him in the stomach with a knife,” said the official.
