Bhubaneswar: Rayagada Divisional Forest Officer Bijaya Kumar Parida, who was apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance officials yesterday has been arrested and will be produced in Court today. Vigilance officials brought him to Bhubaneswar today early morning. The officials have unearthed huge amounts of disproportionate assets from the possession of the DFO. According to sources, the total amount of properties unearthed so far by the Odisha Vigilance is worth Rs 6 Crore.
Yesterday, the Vigilance sleuths had carried out simultaneous raids at seven places including Rayagada, Bhubaneswar, Khordha and Cuttack. During the raids, the officials had unearthed a four storied building in Cuttack which is worth Rs1.18 Crore. Likewise, a 5100 square foot three storied building as been unearthed in his name in Palasuni Bhubaneswar. Also, sixteen valuable plots have been unearthed in his name from Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri and Jajpur. While the total worth of his disproportionate assets is being calculated, it is likely to be more than Rs 6 Crore.
