Bhubaneswar: Giving a shot in the arms to Ganjam Biju Janata Dal, young leader Ranjan Polai today joined the ruling party. He joined the Biju Janata Dal at a joining program held today at the Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Earlier, Ranjan had resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He had contested from the Kabisuryanagar Assembly constituency during the last elections as a BJP candidate.
He was also a member of the State BJP Executive Committee. Ranjan Polai is a well known leader in Kabisuryanagar and is known for his strong political management skills. He and his supporters left the Bharatiya Janata Party alleging discrimination and indiscipline in the party. Along with Ranjan, leaders such as Ashok Sahu, Ashok Pradhan, Minaketan Panigrahy, Sudarshan Sahu and Prasant Sahu also joined the BJD. Likewise, many grassroots leaders of Kodala area also joined the Biju Janata Dal.
