CM Naveen Approves DPR of Metro Rail Project, Tender Process to Start Soon

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the Detailed Project Report for the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project. With this, the tender process for the Metro Rail Project will start soon. The first meeting of Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation will also be held on 18th of this month which will be chaired by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena. The state government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 210 crore for Odisha’s first metro rail project. The first phase of the metro rail project will cover a distance of 26 kilometers and will have 20 stations. The DPR prepared by Delhi Metro Rail was given to the State Government last August. On the auspicious occasion of Utkal DIbasa this year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced the Metro Rail Project from Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik Airport to Trisulia in Cuttack in the first phase.
