Rourkela: The Odisha Fire Service personnel rescued a mother-daughter duo out of a burning house in Koel Nagar of Rourkela today. A major fire had broke out in the first floor of the two-storey building in which the mother and daughter were trapped. According to sources, the fire was likely triggered from an earthen diya that was lit on the occasion of Diwali. The fire engulfed the first floor and then spread to the ground floor. Two fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Household articles and property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in the fire.
