Mayurbhanj: Pangolin Scales Seized, Four Wildlife Criminals Arrested 

Bhubaneswar: The Forest Department officials have seized around 3.6 kg of pangolin scales from an auto rickshaw on the Patbil-Khalpadi road in Kendumundi Forest under Similipal North Forest Division in Mayurbhanj district.

Four wildlife criminals have been arrested in this connection. They have been identified as Matu Ho (40) of Khalpadi village of Karanjia Block Patabil Panchayat, Gourang Mankadia (35) of Kendumundi village in Karanjia Block, Manik Deogam (25) of Chirupada village of Thakurmunda Block Kesadiha Panchayat and Salae Sidhu (40) of Balibho village of Karanjia Block Patabil Panchayat.

A team comprising staff of Similipal and Karanjia forest division of the forest department seized the pangolin scales during a surprise raid, as per reports.

The team also seized one autorickshaw and four mobile phones from the accused persons.
