What Are Contributions of Union Minister to Angul? Asks Pandian
Angul: BJD leader and 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian on Thursday made an all-out attack on Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan without taking his name in the latter’s home district.
Addressing a public meeting at Gadasantri, Pandian asked what are the contributions of the Union Minister to the district?
He has been a Union Minister for a long time. What are his contribution for this region, asked the BJD leader.
Dharmendra Pradhan is a Minister of Education at the Centre. If he wanted, he could have set up educational institutions, like Central School and Navodaya Vidyalaya in all the blocks of the district. Why he didn’t do, asked Pandian.
Similarly, the people of this region are going out for work. He himself is the Skill Development Minister. If he wanted, he could have established many skill development centers in the district. The youths of the district would have improved their skills. Why the Union Minister did not establish a skill development center here, questioned Pandian.
Similarly, he asked why the NH 55 connecting Sambalpur from Cuttack to Angul has been neglected for years.
Union Minister has visited Angul district several times in a year. Angul could have been greatly developed if he had taken up a developmental work each time. But the Union Minister has not done that.
Kartik Pandian further said that after his visit to Angul district in June, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs 100 crores for different developmental projects in the district.
The Union Minister should self-introspect about his duty for the development of his region, said the BJD leader.
