Puri: On the second day of the six-day religious and spiritual extravaganza associated with the inauguration of the Parikrama Prakalpa – the priests will today perform the sacred Ankurapujana. The Badadanda has been decked up for this important ritual and the Yagna Madapa is bustling with festivities. On the auspicious tithi of Pausa Sukla tritiya, the priests will perform the Ankurapujana the whole day.
The much awaited Inauguration ceremony of the Parikrama Prakalpa formally began yesterday with Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb performing the Acharya Barana rituals at the Shri Naara. Gajapati Dibyasingha Deba handed over the ceremonial important puja materials such as the Gua, Paita, Bastra, Nadia, Mudi, Patra etc., to the acharyas for the Yagna.
While the Badadanda is bustling with spirituality, devotion, and cultural traditions, the entire city of Puri and the state is gripped with Jagannath fervor. People in large numbers have started arriving in Puri to witness the most important event. The transformed Badadanda is giving them a lifetime experience. The District Administration is giving last touches to the various developmental works being undertaken and Puri Police has put in place a five layered security cover in the city.
Meanwhile, across the state, the Jagannath Ratha is rolling from village to village and from door to door to collect the Gua Chaula dedicated to Lord Jagannath. The whole state stands united in devotion to the Lord and people wholeheartedly want to be a part of this religious and spiritual event. Amidst Jagannatha Kirtna, people from all walks of life are lining up near the Jagannatha Ratha and offering their devotion through Gua Chaula.
