AAI Team Makes Survey for Puri Airport

Puri: An Airport Authority of India (AAI) team has carried out a survey for the establishment of an airport in Puri.

The seven-member AAI technical team conducted the survey in the presence of Puri Sub Collector Bhabataran Sahu, according to reports.

The team has studied the land’s map and other documents for the proposed airport. It will hold discussions with the district administration, reports added.

Notably, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has demanded the Centre to set up an international airport at Puri in the name of Shree Jagannath International Airport in Puri.

The Chief Minister wrote to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.

The Odisha Government has identified land close to the pilgrim city for the proposed the airport.
