New Delhi: The President of India Ramnath Kovind today conferred Eastern Air Commander Air Marshal Dilip Kumar Patnaik with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal. He was awarded the Gallantry award today during the Defence Investiture Ceremony-I at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. on Monday.
Former Eastern Army Cdr Lt Gen Anil Chauhan (Retd), Engineer in Chief Lt Gen Harpal Singh, Southern Navy commander Vice Admiral Anil Chawla also received Param Vishisht Seva Medal at the investiture ceremony.
President Ramnath Kovind conferred the Vir Chakra on Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman today at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter aircraft during the aerial combat on February 27 a day after the Balakot airstrikes.
