‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ Programme Launched in Cuttack, Kendrapara Dists

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched the State Government’s ambitious ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ programme in the districts of Cuttack and Kendrapara.

The flagship programme aims at strengthening rural infrastructure for building a new Odisha.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 186.50 crore for eight constituencies in Cuttack district under the programme. The constituencies are Baramba, Choudwar-Cuttack, Banki, Athagarh, Niali, Cuttack Sadar, Salepur and Mahanga. As many as 5351 projects will be implemented in 373 gram panchayats.

Similarly, Rs 124.50 crore has been sanctioned for 5 constituencies of Kendrapara district. These constituencies are – Mahakalapada, Kendrapara, Patkura, Rajnagar and Aul . A total of 3353 projects will be taken up in 249 gram panchayats of these constituencies.

The ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ will play a major role in promoting Jagannath culture and strengthen digital infrastructures in the villages and gram panchayats.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Odisha is the land of Jagannath culture that spreads the message of love, peace, harmony, equality and service.

The ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ programme will preserve Jagannath culture in every village. Every place of worship will be developed. Heritage sites will be preserved. The preservation and protection of the cultural and heritage sites is essential for our future generations, the CM said.

He said that the building of digital infrastructure is another objective of the scheme. The villages will get internet connection, science parks, skill development centres.

The skill development centres and works hub will be established in every village. Banking facilities will also be made available to the villagers. The primary schools of the villages will participate in this programme, the CM added.

Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, who moderated the today’s programme, said that the transformation has created enthusiasm among the people.

Ministers, MLAs, Zilla Parishad Presidents, Block Chairpersons, Sarpanches and local people were present on the occasion.
