Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched the ambitious ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ scheme in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Bargarh and Deogarh.
The scheme was launched in three districts on the third day of the flagship programme that aims to promote Jagannath culture and strengthen digital infrastructures in the villages and gram panchayats.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the development of all villages in the state is the primary goal.
“Our culture will be protected and modernity will be developed in the villages. Everyone in the village will be guaranteed education and health. The developed village will be the identity of modern Odisha”, he said.
Odisha is the land of Jagannath culture that spreads the message of love, peace, harmony, equality and service. The ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ programme will preserve Jagannath culture in every village. Every place of worship will be developed. Heritage sites will be preserved. The preservation and protection of the cultural and heritage sites is essential for our future generations, the CM stated.
He said that the building of digital infrastructure is another objective of the scheme. The villages will get internet connection, science parks, skill development centres. The skill development centres and works hub will be established in every village. Banking facilities will also be made available to the villagers. The primary schools of the villages will participate in this programme, the CM added.
In this new Odisha, our foundation will be strong and wings will be strong and the aspirational Odisha’s vision will be realized, the CM said while seeking cooperation of all for the successful implementation of the flagship programme.
Under the programme, five constituencies of Mayurbhanj district have been sanctioned Rs 111.50 crore. These constituencies are – Badsahi, Bangiriposhi, Baripada, Morada and Udala. As many as 3,081 projects will be undertaken in 223 gram panchayats of these constituencies.
Five constituencies of Bargarh district will receive Rs 126.50 crore. The constituencies are Atabira, Bijepur, Bargarh, Padampur and Bhatli. A total of 3,135 projects will be undertaken in 253 gram panchayats in these constituencies.
Rs 35 crore has been sanctioned for one constituency in Deogarh district and 991 projects will be implemented in 70 village panchayats in the district.
Moderating the programme, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian said that the transformation has created enthusiasm among the people.
Ministers Sudam Marndi, Rita Sahu, and MP Mamata Mahant, MLA Rajkishore Das, MLA Snehangini Chhuria, MLA Debesh Acharya, MLA Barsha Singh Bariha, Zilla Parishad presidents, members, local sarpanchs attended the programme.
They said that due to the visit of the 5T Secretary, the development in the district level has improved and the problems that have been pending for many days have also been resolved.
