Angul: Even as the water levels in various flood affected areas of Tikarapada Panchayat in Angul district continue to be severe, the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the needy.
Angul Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, with his team of officials, is visiting the remote areas of the flood affected villages of Tikarapada. The Collector reviewed the arrangements made at the evacuation centres in the different schools at Tikarapda in view of the flood situation and interacted with the villagers.
He also interacted with the people of the flood affected areas. The administration has made arrangements for providing cooked food to the marooned people along with dry food and polythene sheets.
Yesterday, the Collector went to the flood affected areas of five villages of Tikarpada Gram Panchayat where around 250 people have been shifted to government institutions to ensure their safety. They are being provided meals, medicines and all other allied care as per SRC norms. Also, the marooned villagers are being provided with dry Ration, cattle feed as admissible. Relief and rescue teams including NDRF, ODRAF, Fire Services, Forest and District Administration are deployed and working round the clock.
Officials of all the departments including health, veterinary, RWSS and others are on the ground.
