Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that a fresh low pressure area may form over the Bay of Bengal around September 7 causing rainfall in Odisha.
“Most of the weather models are indicating likely formation of a low pressure area over eastcentral Bay of Bengal around 7th September with initial northwestwards movement towards northwest Bay of Bengal during beginning of week 2 (September 9 to September 15) and gradual west-northwestwards movement across central India during middle of week 2 (September 9 to September 15),” the IMD stated.
“IMD GPP is indicating a potential zone for cyclogenesis over eastcentral Bay of Bengal around 7th September. No intensification of this system is indicated by any of the models,” it further stated.
