Asian Games: Indian Shooters And Rowers Bring Five Medals

New Delhi: India’s Asian Games campaign got off to a spectacular start with the shooting and rowing teams bringing five medals for the country on the opening day itself. The shooters team of Ramita Jindal, Mehuli Ghosh and Ashi Chouksey brought the silver medal in Women’s 10 meter Air Rifle event. The Indian Rowing team got its first medal with Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind clinching the Silver in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls event.

Spectacular performance by Babu Lal Yadav and Lekh Ram clinched the bronze medal in the Men’s pair event. Bringing glory for the nation, the rowing crew comprising Neeraj, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, Ashish, and Uttam Pande won the silver medal in the men’s eight event. India’s young shooter Ramita won a bronze medal while teammate Mahuli Ghosh finished fourth in the women’s 10m Air Rifle competition at the 19rh Asian Games at Hangzhou here on Sunday. Ramita finished with a score of 230.1 to finish third behind two Chinese shooters to claim India’s second medal.
