Bhubaneswar: Odisha Legislative Assembly today passed the Odisha University of Technology and Research Bill, 2021”.
The Bill upgrades the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar into a non-affiliating Unitary University named as Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), Bhubaneswar.
The OUTR will provide facilities and opportunities for graduate and post-graduate education, PhD and research in the field of Engineering, Science and Technology, including Information Technology and its application, architecture and management through instruction, training, research, development and extension.
The Assembly also passed the Odisha Town Planning and Improvement Trust (amendment) Bill, 2021.
The Odisha Town Planning & Improvement Trust (OTP &IT) Act, 1956 was enacted by the Legislature of the State of Odisha in order to make provisions for the development, improvement and expansion of towns in the State so as to secure to their present and future inhabitants sanitary conditions, amenities and the socio economic and cultural spaces for an elegant living.
