Sambalpur: Jharbandh Block Education Officer (BEO) Ranjit Bhoi in Bargarh district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for allegedly taking bribe from a headmaster.
Bhoi was apprehended by the vigilance sleuths while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5000 from a headmaster for release of pending salary of teachers of his school under Jharbandh block.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Bhoi, the Vigilance said.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the BEO at Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Investigation is in progress against Bhoi.
