Bhubaneswar: The flag off of the special Barishtha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra pilgrimage train will be held today. The special train will take around one thousand senior citizen pilgrims to various religious places including Varanasi, Mathura and Brindavan. Naveen will flag off the train at Bhubaneswar Railway Station today. Senior citizens from seven districts including Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal have been selected for this journey.
The Government of Odisha started this Barishtha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana to facilitate free pilgrimage for the senior citizens of the state to various places of India. About seven special trains have already been flagged off till date. The Government has made arrangements for free travel, accommodation, fooding and sightseeing of the pilgrims.
