Be Absolutely Impartial, Transparent and Accessible to All Parties Equally: ECI to Collectors, SPs 

Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday urged the district Collectors and SPs to remain absolutely impartial, transparent and equally accessible to all political parties.

In a press briefing in Bhubaneswar, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said that directions have been issued to the Collectors, IGs and SPs for the smooth conduct of the elections in the State.

The CEC said that the Election Commission is fully prepared to conduct for the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections.

All the preparations are almost complete and we urge all voters to come and participate in this festival of democracy, Rajiv Kumar said.

He further said that arrangements are being made for putting in place webcasting facility in 50 per cent of the polling stations in Odisha.

Out of 37809 polling stations, there will be webcasting arrangements in 22,685 polling stations, he said while adding that a 3-tier security at district EVM-VVPAT warehouses will be ensured at all times.

A team of ECI led by CEC Rajiv Kumar has made a three-day visit to Odisha to review state’s preparedness for the elections 2024.
