Berhampur: Elections for the post of Deputy Mayor for Berhampur Municipal Corporation will be held today. As the Biju Janata Dal is in a majority winning 30 out of the 42 corporator seats in the recent elections, candidate belonging to the BJD is all set to be elected to the Deputy Mayor post. While the BJP has won seven corporator posts, independents have won four seats.
While there are many contenders for the post, the suitable candidate chosen by the party is expected to be elected unopposed.
