Berhampur Police Arrests Dismissed Army Jawan in Job Fraud Case

Berhampur: A dismissed army jawan has been arrested by Berhampur Police in a job fraud case.

The dismissed jawan identified as Santosh Kumar Sethy (34) has duped a woman from Chatrapur by promising clerical job in Army AD College, Golabandha and took Rs.1,25,000 from her.

Santhosh Sethy introduced himself as an army jawan working at Army AD College, Golabandha.

During the course of investigation, the police found that Sethy was working in Indian Army and was dismissed from his service due to his notorious activities.

Since two months accused Santosh Sethy came in contact with the woman and developed friendship with her. Taking advantage of friendship, the accused allured her to provide junior clerk in Army AD College.

A case has been registered at Gopalpur PS in this connection, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.

Previously Sethy was arrested in Gopalpur PS Case No 23 Dated 25-01-2023 u/s 420 IPC and Gopalpur PS Case No -29 Dated 29-01-2023 u/s 379/419/420 IPC. He is currently out in court bail.

The accused has been arrested forwarded to court today, the SP added.
