Berhampur Police Arrests Seven Including Corporator In Group Clash Case

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police has arrested a corporator of Berhampur Municipal Corporation in a case related to group clash. The arrested Corporator is identified as Narasingha Sethi from Ward no 25. His brother Narayan Sethi, who is working as a constable, has also been arrested for involvement in the group clash. Five others have also been arrested for their involvement in the case.

According to police sources, the incident happened on the intervening night of Tuesday. Due to previous enmity, the two groups clashed with sword, kati, bamboo stick and baseball bat which resulted in the serious injury to one person and bodily injuries to six others.

On the written report of both the groups, the Berhampur Police has registered two cases and has arrested seven persons involved in the incident. All of them have been forwarded to court on Wednesday. Investigation of both the cases are in progress to verify involvement of other accused persons.
