Berhampur Rock Garden To Open For Public This Week

Berhampur: Good news for the citizens of Berhampur. Silk city is going to add another landmark for the people of the city in the form of the Rock Garden that will be opened within a week.

The unique Rock Garden with sculptures, carvings, walkways and watercourses, grass lawns will be one of its kind in the whole state. Visitors to the garden can also enjoy delicious food at the food plaza.

The Rock Garden being set up at Ambapua area is getting the final touches, and will also have luminar fountain, dry fountain for children, pathway, cycle track, waterfall, open air auditorium and other attractions. The Rock Garden is being constructed by Berhampur Development Authority on an area of nine acres. Ganjam Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida held a review meeting regarding the progress of the project and has instructed the authorities to complete the works as soon as possible and open it for the public. The Garden was inaugurated earlier but was undergoing major beautification and development works.

The Collector also reviewed the progress of the Ganjam Haat, Giri Market Development works, Old Bus Stand Multilevel Parking work and instructed the concerned officials to complete the works on time. The Ganjam Haat project is in the last stages and will be completed by this November. The worls relating to the Multi Level Parking in Old Bus Stand have already commenced. There is a proposal to make changes in the main DPR and enhance the area under Giri Market development project. The review meeting was attended by Berhampur Municipal Commissioner J. Sonal, Additional Commissioner Sambit Rout, Deputy Mayor E. Vivek Reddy and other senior officials.
