Berhampur: Six persons were arrested by Berhampur Police for allegedly clash over parental property dispute.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jalandhar Das (55), Sisir Das (27), Chinmaya Das (21), Bajrangi Padhi (25), Lokanath Choudhury (24) and Roshan Khatei (20).
The Berhampur Police also seized three iron swords, two iron axes, one bamboo stick, two live hand bombs and remnants of exploded hand bombs.
As per police, on 24.10.2022 at 11 PM the arrested accused persons have committed rioting armed with deadly weapons and hand bombs over the house of complainant and nearby houses of Ainabandha Sahi under Badabazar P.S. This was due to the parental house property dispute between three brothers – Jalandhar Das, Ramesh Das @ Kankada and Ramesh Das of Ainabandha Sahi.
On the night of occurrence there was clash between Jalandhara Das and Ramesh Das. After the occurrence the accused persons absconded and were arrested from Bhubaneswar today, the police said.
Earlier the accused Jalandhar Das was involved in 35 criminal cases, Sisir Das 9 cases, Bajarangi Padhi @ Bhau 4 cases, 1 case each against Roshan Khatei and Chinmaya Das.
The arrested accused persons are being forwarded to Court today. Investigation of the case is in progress, stated Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
