Berhampur SP Leads Film Style Raid On Private Guest House; Three Sex Workers Rescued, 12 Others Arrested

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police yesterday rescued three sex workers and arrested 12 other persons from a private guest house situated at Tata Benz Square in the heart of the city.

The arrested persons include some customers, the middleman and kingpin.

Acting on a tip off, Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M personally went to the spot in disguise of a common man and raided the Tulsi Guest House along with police team.

During raid the BN Pur police detected women and men in compromising position in three rooms (3 victims and 6 customers) and also found used and unused luxury condoms, empty liquor bottles along with glasses, cigarette packets and tablets.

During interrogation, the victims
revealed that they are from Kolkata and are involved in the flesh trade.

During investigation it was found that Gopi Behera alias Rajanikant was the kingpin who brought the women from Kolkata for flesh trade. Rajesh Kumar Bisoyi currently runs Tulsi guest house based on lease he made with the building owner. He was getting commission out of the prostitution.

The apprehended customers confessed their indulgence in the flesh trade.

All three victims will be kept at correctional home after producing them before the honourable court, the SP said.

Further investigation is underway. Steps will be taken to get courts permission to seal the place, he added.
