Berhampur: Continuing its drive against unhygienic practices by eateries in silk city, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) on Wednesday sealed three restaurants in the city.
Led by BeMC Commissioner J Sonal and Berhampur Sub-Collector Kulkarni Ashutosh C, a team of BeMC officials, pollution control board Officials, labour department officials, civil supply ACSO, food safety officials inspected various hotels, sweet stalls and eateries.
The team sealed three restaurants Kiran Restaurant, Pintu Kitchen and Girija Restaurant and imposed penalty on other eateries and business establishments including Nandan International for violating SWM rules, civil supply rules, parking provision guidelines, polythene use and use of food colouring.
As many as 12 establishments were inspected and imposed penalty of 92000 and three restaurants were sealed for violating rules.
The BeMC urged the hotel owners to adhere the hygiene and protocol while food preparation.
Regular inspection will be made by BeMC from time to time, said an official.
