Berhampur: A youth from Berhampur in Ganjam district fell prey to online fraud and allegedly lost Rs 90,000 to the fraudster.
The youth identified as Bibhu Prasad Sanatan, a resident of Govind Bihar area in Berhampur, has been duped by the cyber fraudster.
As per the complaint lodged at the Berhampur Cyber Police Station, Sanatan, a registered Slice credit card account holder, got a call regarding cash back offer after depositing outstanding amount. He was asked for OTP by the caller. He was prompted a message of Rs 90,000 purchase and the amount was debited from his Slice account through Flipkart vouchers. A total of 9 Flipkart vouchers of Rs 10,000 each debited from his credit card account.
Sanatan has registered a complaint with the Berhampur Cyber Police Station.
The investigation in the matter is underway, as per sources.
