Bhubaneswar: Bhakta Charan Das resigned from the Chairman post of Campaign Committee of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee after the party’s disappointing performance in the recently concluded elections in the State.
Das sent his resignation letter to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge taking moral responsibility of the party’s poor performance in the simultaneous elections in Odisha.
“I worked hard to contribute my best but unfortunately we failed to come up to the expectations. We really appreciate the kind support and cooperation received from the Congress President, Former President Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of AICC during the election,” the senior Congress leader said.
The Congress won one Lok Sabha seat and 14 Assembly seats in Odisha.
