Bhitarakanika National Park to Be Closed For Visitors From 5th To 13th January For Crocodile Census
Kendrapada: Bhitarakanika National Park, home to the endangered salt water crocodiles will be closed for visitors from 5th January to 13th January as the authorities carryout annual census of the alligators. According to sources, the counting will be done in the five ranges of the Park with all the permanent and temporary staff engaged in the operation. Wildlife experts and senior officials will accompany the 22 teams of enumerators that will count the crocodiles. During last year’s census, the officials had counted 1793 crocodiles in the National Park.
