Biju Mahila Janata Dal to Stage Protest against BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra for Attacking On-Duty Lady Police Officer

Bhubaneswar: Members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal will stage a protest against BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra for allegedly physically assaulting and outraging modesty of an on-duty lady police officer.

The women wing of the Biju Janata Dal will hold the protest at around 9 am tomorrow at PMG square in Bhubaneswar, as per a statement issued by the party.

Earlier, the BJD demanded removal of Mishra from Leader of Opposition (LoP) post over the incident.

Several BJD leaders, including BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das, MP Sasmit Patra, have also strongly condemned the incident demanding action against the BJP MLA.

Such a rude behavior and brutal physical assault on a lady police officer on duty is highly condemnable and shameful. The people of Odisha will never accept this, Pranab Prakash Das said.

“Shocking video of Odisha BJP’s Leader of Opposition Shri. Jayanarayan Mishra physically assaulting & threatening an on-duty Lady Police officer. Is this what Odisha BJP leaders mean about showing respect & protecting dignity of women? Please show some respect to women”, BJD MP Sasmit Patra said.

Mishra has allegedly assaulted woman police inspector in charge (IIC) Anita Pradhan of Dhanupali police station in Sambalpur district, as per reports.
