BJD Demands Arrest of BJP Leaders Involved in Attack on Sarpanch Candidate in Gajapati District

Bhubaneswar: A Biju Janata Dal delegation today met the State Election Commissioner seeking immediate arrest of the BJP leaders and workers involved in the murderous attack on the BJD-supported Sarpanch candidate in Gosani Block of Gajapati district.

C H Prasad Rao, a BJD supported Sarpanch candidate in Sardhapur Gram Panchayat, Gosani Block, was grievously injured in the attack perpetuated by the BJP leaders and workers on Sunday. Rao is struggling between life and death in the hospital, the BJD delegation said.
In fear of losing the ensuing Panchayat elections, the BJP leaders are unleashing a wave of violence against the BJD candidates, leaders and party cadres, the BJD delegation alleged.

The delegation also demanded appropriate security measures for the BJD candidates.
