New Delhi: A delegation of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs today called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking increase in reservation beyond 50% ceiling by enacting a Central Legislation for empowerment of States.

The BJD MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha met the Union Home Minister at his Parliament Chamber in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum.

The BJD delegation urged the Union Minister to consider the proposal for enactment of Central Legislation for empowerment of States for formulation of rational Reservation Policy by enhancing reservation beyond the 50% ceiling, along with identification and publication of SEBC/OBC list after due collection of scientific data of these categories through General Census 2021.
