BJD Team Submits Report on Polavaram Project to Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) team that reviewed the impact of the controversial Polavaram project on Odisha has submitted its report to party President Naveen Patnaik.

The team led by Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak visited Motu, Alma and Peta Binayakpur villages in Malkangiri district and took opinions of the locals on the project.

The team also studied the geographical and technical aspects of the project. The team also visited adjoining Kaler area in Andhra Pradesh to access the situation and interact with the villagers there.

The team comprising senior leaders such as Devi Prasad Mishra, Pradeep Majhi, Bhrigu Baxipatra, and BJD leaders from Malkangiri district submitted an extensive report on the contentious project to the party supremo Naveen Patnaik.

The Polavaram project by the Andhra Pradesh government is likely cause hardship to people in various districts of Odisha, particularly Malkangiri. Odisha is expected to suffer significant losses from this project without gaining any benefits. The BJD has been opposing the project since its inception, as per the reports.
